PEATBOG FAERIES
The Peatbog Faeries return to Glenuig for another fantastic
evening of high octane Celtic dance music.
Based on the Isle of Skye, the Peatbog Faeries have been described
as 'the future of Celtic dance music'. They incorporate many
influences which take them from traditional jigs and reels
through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more. This is high octane
Celtic dance music so be prepared to dance!

including the 'Best Live Act' at the prestigious Scots Trad
Music Awards. Their inventive and unique approach always bring
to its audience a true flavour of traditional Scottish music.

and the band have even performed at the BBC Proms in the Park
in Glasgow in collaboration with the Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Easter Dance Extravaganza with the SQUASHY BAG DANCE BAND
The Squashy Bag Dance Band embarked on their first odyssey
on the Easter weekend of 2003. Although the five band members
had come from all walks of life it was this explosive experience
- Friday night in Inverie, Saturday night on the Island of
Rum - that made them realise they wanted to devote their lives
to dance music. Over one thousand weddings and several international
festivals followed, culminating in perhaps their greatest
accolade to date: The Gregor MacGregor Dance Band Award for
Most Distinguishing Feature. Fame doesn't always bring happiness
though, and eventually the band courageously decided to go
back to their day jobs, re-uniting once or twice a year in
glorious celebration somewhere on their beloved west coast
of Scotland. These rare and joyful occasions are not to be
missed! One look at the line-up and it's easy to see why Jimmy
Page once said "I didn't know the meaning of rocking
out until I stripped the willow with the Squashy Bag Dance
Band."
Featuring: Eilidh (Pinball) Shaw on fiddle; Thomas (Tam the
Banjo) Kinsella on banjo; Sarah (Sassy) McFadyen on fiddle;
Sandy (the Space Cowboy) Wright on guitar and occasionally
unpredictable but usually sometimes appropriate vocals; and
Donald (Drummy) Hay on drums.
A ridiculous night of fun guaranteed - hope to see you all
there!
Dance begins at 8:00pm. Tickets £8 (under 18s £5)
available soon.
