There has been a shop at Glenuig, immediately south of the Smirisary
junction, for many years with a sub-post office, open on Tuesday and
Thursday afternoons. The filling station on this site closed many years
ago.
The shop building is now in a parlous state and needs replacing.
Glenuig Community Shop Steering Group has been set up to investigate
the possibility of raising funding for a fresh, modern replacement
for the shop, with maybe a filling station alongside. This shop is
seen as an attraction to passing visitors as well as to locals, and
the increased trade will benefit all of the community.
