A New Singing Group in Glenuig!

A NEW SINGING GROUP FOR GLENUIG !

Calling all singers in the area – whether you’re an experienced choir member or a secret shower crooner, come along and enjoy some group singing in our beautiful village hall on a Thursday evening.

Our first singing workshop is on Thursday 12th October at 7.30pm and will be led by a special guest; Seamas Carey.  Seamas is an inspirational choir-leader, performer and composer from Cornwall, who’s coming to Glenuig to perform his hilarious one-man show, “Help, I think I’m a Nationalist” on the following night.

Here’s what he has to say about his Cornish male voice choir, Men Are Singing:  https://www.menaresinging.com/

I’ve come to realise that singing really can make you feel better. It’s an equal meeting place, where friends, family or a whole community can come together and do something that’s creative, constructive and in unison. An increasingly rare thing at the moment. It has an unexplainable and undeniable power to make people feel good.

From Thursday 26th October, this new community singing group will aim to meet weekly and will be led by Rosie Gillespie, a well-known and experienced singer and music teacher from the Sunart area. Different styles of music will be explored and the focus will be on singing for fun and well-being. Guest tutors, such as Kaela Rowan, Margaret Ford and Iona Lane will also be offering singing workshops throughout the year, as part of this new initiative.

Each Thursday session will start at 7.30pm and will cost only £5 to take part.
